xiKeep Support
What is xiKeep?
xiKeep is the private keeper of anything: save text, links, images, video, audio, voice notes, files, and checklists into chat-style threads — local-first, no account, fully searchable, and yours forever. Your content stays on your device; nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
- Where is my data stored?
- On your device, in the app's protected storage. Nothing is uploaded; there is no account.
- How do I back up?
- Export threads as
.xikeeparchives (and selected items as.xibubble) and store them yourself in Files or iCloud Drive. Device backups (iCloud or Finder) also include xiKeep data. Because there is no account, there is no server-side recovery — if a device is lost without a backup, the data on it cannot be restored by us. - What data does xiKeep collect?
- Content-free usage analytics (you can turn them off under Settings > Privacy & Diagnostics > Share Product Analytics) and crash diagnostics. Never your saved content, names, URLs, or search queries. Details in the Privacy Policy.
- What does the free tier limit?
- Thread count and selected advanced features. You can keep unlimited items, xiKeep never refuses a save because of your tier, and everything already saved stays fully viewable, searchable, shareable, and exportable forever.
- Why can't I find xiKeep results in Spotlight?
- Spotlight integration requires iOS 18 or later. On iOS 17, full search remains available inside the app.
- The share sheet says "open xiKeep first."
- The main app prepares its storage on first launch. Open xiKeep once, then sharing from other apps works.
